The New York Governor and Democrat Andrew Cuomo has been accused of sexual misconduct and harassment by seven women. The allegations are made by the women who have worked with Mr Cuomo at several stages. Many of the Democrats have joined the trend asking Mr Cuomo to resign.

Mr Cuomo was first accused in February by Lindsey Boylan, a formar top level aide, writing that the governor touched her without her consent and often made inappropriate comments. While on his private jet he kissed on lips and asked to play strip poker.

Another woman accused him of groping beneath her blouse. Jessica Bakeman, a former statehouse reporter accused him of repeatedly touching her. “He uses touching and sexual intimation to stoke fear.”

When asked whether Mr Cuomo should resign, President Biden said, investigation is under way and we should see what it brings us. His comments differ from other senior party members who want the governor to step down.

Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Speaker of the House of Representatives said on Sunday “ what these women have said must be treated with respect. They are credible and serious charges.

Mr Cuomo, whose term in the office comes to end in 2022, has denied all the allegations. “ I did not do what has been alleged.” “ I never harassed, assaulted, abused anyone” Mr Cuomo said last week.

The New York State Assembly Speaker has given the nod for an investigation into the allegations. The inquiry will interview witnesses and look at evidence that could eventually throw him out of office.

Nancy Pelosi said both the women and Cuomo deserve to hear the results of these investigations and she had confidence in the state’s attorney general.
